After years of grinding away, things finally started taking off. Alice in Chains is believed to be the primary influence to Godsmack. I was making fun of him all day because we had a photo shoot coming up. And then the next day when I came in, I had a big cold sore on my lip.
So my guitar player said, See, God just smacked you for making fun of him. The logo of Godsmack is similar to the sun logo of Alice in Chains. In , they opened for Metallica, while headlining with Dropbox in the summer. They did acoustic shows for their newly released album The Other Side in the fall of , while still opening for Metallica. A godsmackthat he will have to forever live with - and keep guys like him away from his daughter.
A godsmackthat they will have to accept in order to keep the peace with their child. A person who is afraid of flying finally decides to go on a plane and dies in a plane crash. Fatal godsmack. A very successful and underrated heavy metal band from Boston, Massachusetts who sold over 8 million records. With 4 platinum albums, the band also holds the record 17 and counting for most top 10 singles in active rock history. The band is wrongfully accused by many for ripping off Alice and Chains names, logos, and sound.
However, anybody with any musical talent or knowledge can agree that this is not true. Godsmack is arguably the best live band out there today. The band has notably out performed bands such as Metallica and Motley Crue infront of live audiences.
Godsmack consists of 4 members. I went to the Metallica concert last night. Godsmack opened for them completley and stole the show. I left Cruefest 2 after Godsmack's set. No other band could measure up. A good band that has come a long way since their first album.
They started as a tribute to Alice In Chains , and people bash them for it because of it even though it's actually pretty cool to do a tribute to such a band. Stickers and lyrics are by nature subjective We have decided to put a sticker on the record. However, lyrics can be misinterpreted, especially when the lead singer of a band admits that he practices a controversial religion, Wicca.
Yet, it is his relationship with Salem priestess Laurie Cabot that caused the controversy. Erna told The Reader that he is a "recovering Catholic" and commented to Rolling Stone that he "always felt a little lost with Christianity.
It's not like, 'Poof, you're a frog. They also celebrated the success of their second single, "Voodoo," and the fact that after 14 months of touring they were finally going home. However, Erna found that he could not rest, as he told Billboard , "until this thing [second album] is done. Erna told Rolling Stone that the band doesn't want time to think because "we don't want to lose our creativity and the drive. No one wants to get on the rock-star ego trip. We've gone through a lot of crap in our lives We'll never forget where we came from.
I don't think we have the personalities to be rock stars. Godsmack seems happy to ignore fame and let the bubblegum pop music stars shine on radio and television. The band has even almost forgotten how critically successful and popular they have become. To be honest, we couldn't have written this story any better.
